David T. Clark, MBA
Senior Managing Director

David T. Clark,is responsible for originating, structuring and approval of new funding opportunities for Milestone. David heads the Management Committee and Credit Committee for the Fund. In addition, David is involved in all operational aspects of the fund.

David continues to remain a Partner in Compeer Partners, LLC. Prior to forming Compeer and Milestone, David was First Vice President and Sales Manager with Bank One, NA where he handled numerous mid-market relationships. David’s experience spans over 17 years in banking holding various positions with Key Bank and Bank One. While at these institutions, David developed and maintained business relationships with small, middle and large corporate businesses and gained an expertise in debt financing with extensive knowledge in Capital Markets, Treasury Management, International Banking, and Risk Management. David has been a frequent speaker for various professional organizations and companies on debt markets and relationship banking.

David has served on various boards including the Boards of BalletMet and the Leukemia Society. He currently is active with Junior Achievement of Central Ohio where he is Vice Chair and an Executive Board Member.

David graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS degree in Marketing and advanced his studies at John Carroll University, where he attained his MBA degree.




William R. Lee
Managing Director

Bill is responsible for originating and structuring new business opportunities for Milestone. Bill sits on the Credit Committee and Management Committee. In addition, Bill is the Managing Partner of Compeer Partners in which he has a special emphasis in the areas of business strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital acquisition and funding.

Prior to forming Compeer Partners and Milestone, Bill was Chairman of Rail Van Inc. and served on its Board of Directors. He was responsible for the administrative and financial operations of Rail Van Inc. In 1984, Bill with two other founding partners purchased the assets of Rail Van, Inc. in a leveraged buy-out. Rail Van grew from annual sales of $12 million and 27 employees in 1984, to over $600 million of sales and over 600 employees in 2000. During this time, Bill administered a number of financial transactions including major refinancing of debt and a number of acquisitions and joint ventures.

In 2000, Bill negotiated the sale of Rail Van Inc. in a stock transaction to Pacer International and subsequently retired from Rail Van. In 1998, Mr. Lee arranged the sale of 25% of Rail Van, Inc. in a stock transaction to KDR Capital, an investment group comprised of Ken Thomas, R. David Thomas, and R. L. Richards. Prior to joining Rail Van, Mr. Lee was with Conrail and Penn Truck Lines.

During his career with Rail Van, Bill participated in a number of transportation industry forums and was active in the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) as a board member for nine years and serving as Vice Chairman twice. Bill was a member of the ANSI X12 subcommittee on EDI standards and was instrumental in the implementation of EDI standards in the Intermodal industry.

Bill Graduated from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.





Michael T. Sauer
Managing Director

Mike is responsible for financial, organizational and credit administration for Milestone. Mike sits on the Credit Committee and Management Committee. Mike is a Partner with Compeer Partners where his focus is in the areas of performance management, accounting operations, cash flow forecasting and management, product profitability and financial advisory services.

Prior to forming Compeer Partners and Milestone, Mike was Chief Financial Officer of Pacer Global Logistics. Pacer Global Logistics was formed in 2000 when Rail Van Inc. was sold to Pacer International. Prior to Pacer Global Logistics, Mike was Chief Financial Officer for Rail Van Inc. and served on its Board of Directors. While at Pacer Global Logistics (Rail Van) Mike was responsible for all day-to-day financial activities. This included managing the sale of Rail Van to Pacer International. Pacer Global Logistics is a $1 billion national third party Logistics provider.

Prior to Rail Van, Mike was Vice President, Controller and Treasurer of CitFed Bancorp a NASDAQ savings bank subsequently purchased by Fifth Third. Mike was responsible for all financial operations of CitFed including converting CitFed in an IPO from a mutual Savings & Loan to a Savings Bank. Prior to CitFed, Mike worked in the audit department of the Columbus Office of Coopers & Lybrand and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio.

Mike has served on various boards including The National Aviation Hall of Fame. He is currently on the Board of the Ohio Statewide Development Corporation.

Mike has an Accounting Degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Dayton.
